Ever since we sold our house in Almaden-San Jose, CA, Rob and I have maintained to short term and long term to do list for the house. We had so many things to fix when we sold the last house, we never wanted to have to do that again. Over the years we’ve had minor things, to major things to fix.
Then. . .
There was the wish list.
Only what you knew you longed for was on the wish list. And, those things we also on the long term, we’ll get to it some day list.
This summer is someday!!!!!!!
We started remodeling our master bathroom. Yes, this is the bathroom we plan to grow old in.
The old whirlpool tub is gone and this will be our walk in duel shower head sanctuary. We were both feeling the beachy theme. Smooth pebbles in the shower. Tile that has flecks of sand. Warm wood tones for the vanity and closet like driftwood. Mmmmmmmmmm. Joyful Sunset Shores await.
So the workermen have been working very hard, and Sean has been gracious to let us share his bath.
But this weekend was getting some manly man, fire builder, pyro getting on. We have a new area off deck and tonight will be our first fire. Wahoot!! Look at what my men built!!!
We even had enough blocks to circle 2 trees.
We have been lucky in Leawood the last week to have had rain. Not driving, oh my god, we’re going to flood again rain. But, nice off and on, let it soak in and feel like fall rain.
The back yard has greened up and the plants are looking reading for those beautiful cool days.
So coming home to perfect evening weather to a mystery is always fun.
Clue 1- dry outline
What toy could have caused this??
Yup, fits like a glove.
Silly duffus dog.
To quote my favorite Econ site, Carpe Diem . . .
Teenagers are exploring the economics of a black market system. With desserts and flavored milk now banned from purchase in the lunch room, resourceful teenagers are heading to their local store to stock up on chocolate syrup. Squirts sell for 50 cents each!!
Well I am missing my hubby and boys this weekend. They are out camping with Troop 10. I am at home with a long list of chores to accomplish. First and most important is getting the Court of Honor program completed and get to the printer. A special thanks to all those parents that respond to help emails (and I promise to be faster myself), but I finally have all my readers.
While shopping to help get the boys ready for camping yesterday, some ham caught my eye.
Not just any ham, but Ham Steak! You know, it was the size that you always WANT to cut off those pre-cut spiral honey baked things, but can’t.
Seriously it was more than 1/4 in think.
So into the frying pan with a little butter to Carmelite it and eggs into the small pan.
Then perfection!!!! Between a terrific breakfast and my really strong coffee, I am ready to conquer the day.
Ps Buck loved the extras on the plate
Yikes, by the last date of the posts, you can tell it has been crazy September already. But for all the chaos, out comes an upstanding, outstanding, new Eagle Scout. I am so proud of my son. Very blessed to stand with my family.
Congratulations Jeremy Ryan Day!!!!
