Go Figure. I know. Tell you a story you don’t know.
After a day of laundry and moderate put away, Rob and I picked up the dogs at Sidney’s in the afternoon. Same questions. How was your trip? Great! How were the Dogs?
“Well”, the nice young lady said, “Buck is just the best dog ever.” Yeah we know!
Then she says, “and Scout decided that he could jump the 5 foot fence to get out of the day care area so he could visit the ladies at the front desk.”
jaws dropping a bit. . . I ask, “Did he scale the wall or just go over?”
“Nope, he essentially did the steeple chase. Gazelle to the top of the first low 3 foot wall and then up and over the taller wall to the front of the shop.”
I seriously felt like I was in the principal’s office. If she wasn’t trying to hide her OMG smirk I think I would have felt worse.
Go Figure. He IS THAT DOG.
AND he grew at least 2 inches!!! Scout is now taller than Buck.
More with how confident dogs are. They are curdled up or on display. Just saying.
Dogs, puppies, and babies. It is amazing how-where-when they can fall asleep???
May i present Bendable Dog. Falling off the dog bed.
Scout has been in the family now for just a little over a month. One thing for sure, this kid is a snuggle dog, have to touch you, can i sleep right here, Puppy Pile’er. Buck has always been happy to be right next to you or in the room, just where he can see you. But Scout, he needs to be with the one he loves, and make it so he is “actually” touching.
The first time I saw Scout “pile in” was a couple weeks ago. Buck and he had played hard and Buck plopped down right in front of the fire place. Scout had started his snooze at my feet and then promptly got up and tucked right in with Buck.
I think Buck was so surprised as he looked up and like he was creeping out. “eeewww the kid is touching me again Mom!!!!”. But now they seem to tuck in automatically
I see them do it, but don’t quite understand it. How can you touch that long and still relax to fall asleep. Is it the touching that is relaxing or simply the warmth they get. Or perhaps it is the breathing. While I am not sure about the reason, it has been interesting to watch the pile progression.
He knows what he wants and consistently puts him self where he is most comfortable.
Just happy to rest on and by the one he loves.
don’t wake me. I’m comfy now!
Ahhhh Kansas. Nothing like having to grill indoors. We pulled out the electric grill tonight. Turkey Burgers on the fly. Sorry no pictures, but with the grilled onions, they were about as yummy as they got. the trick to cooking a better burger on the open grill is to put a metal bowl over the burgers to convect some heat/steam. You still should sear everything like you would on a normal charcoal/gas grill.
Work out today . . .
- cybex stair-stepper 25 minutes and pulling edible bark from Scout’s mouth
- dog walking
- head pounding (performed delicately after receiving emails from PITA clients).
The snow is nearly melted from the back yard, but we are now blessed with MUD.
Below’s picture is Sedum flower pods and the fur kids.
So go get out side already. I did!
Please welcome the newest member of the Day Family!!
